Ventilator Machine

A ventilator machine is a device used to assist or completely replace a patient's normal respiratory function. It mechanically delivers air or other gas mixtures to the patient's lungs to maintain or improve lung ventilation. Ventilators are primarily used in critical care medicine, home care and emergency medicine (as stand-alone equipment) and anesthesiology (as part of an anesthesia machine).

The main functions and roles of the ventilator machine

Life Support for Critically Ill Patients

Used in ICUs to assist patients with severe respiratory failure, such as ARDS, pneumonia, or COVID-19, ensuring adequate oxygenation and ventilation.

Breathing Assistance for Surgery & Anesthesia

Used in ICUs to assist patients with severe respiratory failure, such as ARDS, pneumonia, or COVID-19, ensuring adequate oxygenation and ventilation.

Emergency Respiratory Support

Used in ambulances and emergency rooms to provide immediate breathing support for patients in respiratory distress or failure.

Management of Chronic Respiratory Conditions

Supports patients with long-term respiratory diseases like COPD or neuromuscular disorders, helping them breathe more efficiently.

Weaning & Rehabilitation for Recovery

Gradually reduces ventilator dependence for recovering patients, training their lungs to resume natural breathing.

Neonatal & Pediatric Respiratory Care

Assists premature babies and newborns with underdeveloped lungs, ensuring proper oxygenation and survival.

Classification of Ventilators

Ventilators, as an important class of medical equipment, can be categorized in several dimensions based on their design features, functional modes and application scenarios.

3 1

ICU ventilator

An ICU ventilator is a high-performance, advanced life-support machine used in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) for critically ill patients who require long-term mechanical ventilation.

3 2 logo

Emergency-Transport Ventilator

An emergency-transport ventilator is a rugged, portable device used to provide ventilation support in ambulances, helicopters, and emergency situations where immediate respiratory support is needed.

Portable ventilator

A portable ventilator is a compact, lightweight ventilator designed for patients who need ventilation support outside of a hospital setting, such as in home care, travel, or non-ICU hospital use.

Core parameters of the ventilator

Le facteur clé du succès de la défibrillation est le courant ; l'énergie du choc est simplement le moyen par lequel le courant est généré, et la direction de l'arrivée du courant fait une différence pour le myocarde.

4 1 2 scaled
  • Tidal volume (TV)

Pulmonary ventilatory function index, linked to the patient’s body weight, the larger the lower minimum and upper maximum range, the more patients it can accommodate

Generally 6~15ml / kg

  • Inhaled oxygen concentration (FiO2/O2 concentration)

Generally 20%-100% adjustable, low-end ventilator products adjustable concentration range is smaller

  • Respiration rate (Freq)

Tied to the patient’s age, it is typically set at 12 to 20 beats/minute.

  • Positive end-expiratory pressure PEEP value

Pressure values measured in the airway at the end of expiration, preventing abnormal airway collapse, preventing pulmonary atelectasis, and improving compliance

  • Inhalation/exhalation ratio I:E range (I:E)

Ratio of inhalation to exhalation

The greater the range of ratios, the greater the number of patient types and disease types that can be accommodated

  • Synchronized trigger sensitivity ( trigger )

Refers to how much respiratory effort is required by the user to get the ventilator to start working

  • Screen (LED digital display, LCD liquid crystal screen, touch screen)
